Matchday 5 Preview with our experts

Analysis of the teams prior the eFootball.Pro League’s last Regular League matchday

Matchday 4 ended with victories for Celtic FC, Boavista FC, and FC Barcelona, and defeats for AS Monaco, FC Schalke 04, and FC Nantes. The victories were very important to those teams, because it  improved greatly Boavista’s chances of avoiding the Last Chance Group, and qualified FC Barcelona and Celtic FC in the Finals. Matchday 5 is very important to the rest of the teams, since there is only one spot left for them to qualify directly to the Finals.

The first match of the day between Celtic FC and Schalke 04 (Saturday, April 13th, 16:00 CET) is very important to Schalke, since they can claim the last spot of the Finals, if they win and the rest of the teams loses. Celtic FC still have the race for the first place of the eFootball.Pro League table against FC Barcelona, so it is as important for them, if they want to win the Regular League championship. If the Blaugranas win, Celtic will remain on second place, because when the teams faced each other, Barça won the match.

The second match of the day is between FC Nantes and Boavista FC (Saturday, April 13th, 16:50 CET). Boavista went up to 4th place on the table after having its first victory of the eFootball.Pro League. It is vital that they win in Matchday 5 against FC Nantes if they want to increase their possibilities to qualify directly for the Finals, although they depend more on AS Monaco’s results to qualify. If Monaco loses and Boavista wins, Boavista will qualify, because they will end the Regular League with more victories than Monaco. Although FC Nantes are at the bottom of the eFootball.Pro League table, they still have the chance to statistically qualify for the Finals. But they need to win against Boavista Matchday 5 and hope to have a better goal average than AS Monaco, and wait on the final results of the day.

The last match of Matchday 5 will have the eFootball.Pro League table leaders, FC Barcelona, against AS Monaco (Saturday, April 13th, 17:40 CET). The Blaugranas are already qualified for the Finals. All they need is this last win to secure the eFootball.Pro Regular League championship. On the other hand, this last match is very important to AS Monaco, who need this win to qualify for the Finals. If they end up with a draw or a defeat, it will lower their chances greatly for them to evade the Last Chance Group.

The last matchday for the Regular League has a huge significance to the teams that are yet to qualify for the Finals. Some teams have it more difficult than others, but there are still possibilities for every team, since some of them will depend on the other matches’ results. At the end of this last matchday, the teams that make up the Finals and Last Chance Group will be set for the knockout stage, on May 18th and 19th.
