Usmakabyle: “I want to win the eFootball.Pro League as many times as possible”

eFootball.Pro interviews AS Monaco’s player Usmakabyle before he tries to win his third PES League world title in 1v1

Usmakabyle (France, 1993) is the current eFootball.Pro League champion, together with his teammates Lotfi and RedMamba, representing AS Monaco. He was also the top assists provider of the season, award that he won after helping 17 times Lotfi to score throughout the Regular League and the Finals. He also finished the competition being the second top scorer with 18 goals. In addition, he was the player who shot the most (50 shots from Matchday 3), the top shooter on target (35) and the player with more passing interceptions (153).

His stunning performance not only helped him to win the eFootball.Pro League, but also made him victorious in many other competitions. He was the first player to win two PES League titles and, as if that weren’t enough, he achieved it in two consecutive years (2015 and 2016). After that, he decided to stop competing in PES and this season, the one of his comeback, he has qualified for PES League World Finals again in 1v1. He couldn’t make it in CO-OP, with AS Monaco eSports, although they reached the final of the European Regional Finals Season 2.

eFootball.Pro interviews Usmakabyle to know his impressions after the first season of the eFootball.Pro competition and when he’s about to play for the PES world title.

eFootball.Pro: What has the first eFootball.Pro League season meant to you?

Usmakabyle: “For the first time I was able to represent AS Monaco eSports in a unique competition against other football clubs. It's a great experience and I’m proud of it!”

Usmakabyle: "We made a lot of concentration errors during the Regular League but these mistakes could be corrected at the best time and we showed another face during the Finals."

You together with Lotfi, led AS Monaco to be the first eFootball.Pro League champion. Was it difficult for you to win this title?

“It was very difficult! We were very well prepared and trained very hard every day to correct our mistakes, because the level of competition was very high. We did our best to improve and deserve this title.”

With AS Monaco, you finished third in the Regular League, but then you won the Finals and turn out to be the champions. What made you win there? Was it the format, the mindset, the rivals or anything else?

Usmakabyle: "We made a lot of concentration errors during the Regular League and it made us lose points that were within our reach. With a lot of work and motivation, these mistakes could be corrected at the best time and we showed another face during the Finals.”

You are a well-known player in the competitive PES scene and have played and won PES League as well as many other tournaments. What do you think makes the eFootball.Pro League different from other competitions?

"This is the first time I participate in a competition with a championship format. There is no room for chance and this gives time to prepare well for matches, analyse opponents, correct mistakes... It's very different from the PES League that takes place on a single day and it doesn’t allow to analyse the matches during which you must endure a lot.”

Has it been difficult for you to play at the same time PES League online qualification, PES League Regional Finals and the eFootball.Pro League? And playing also at the same time 1v1, 2v2 and CO-OP (3v3)?

"My expertise allows me to easily adapt to all situations. With the club and my teammates, we set a schedule to be efficient, well prepared and ambitious for all the competitions we wanted to participate in.”

Usmakabyle: "In just 3 years, I won 2 world titles before taking a two-year break. I’ve come back with a lot of motivation, I train a lot to be the best. I’m obviously aiming for a new world title!"

What have you been doing during these weeks between the eFootball.Pro League Finals and the PES League World Finals?

“To begin with, I rested to be in shape. Then, I resumed training to be well prepared for the PES League World Finals. I don’t want to have any regret and achieve the best performance possible.”

You played together with Lotfi and RedMamba not only in the eFootball.Pro League but also in PES League. How is it to play together with them.

“I’m very lucky to be able to play with them, we know each other perfectly. We know the strengths and the weaknesses of each one, we have the same vision of the game, we trust each other. Apart from the level of play, it’s essential to know yourself well to be successful in cooperation. These are the details that allow you to win tournaments.”

You were the first player to win PES League twice, but last year ETTORITO97 achieved that too. Do you think you will be the first player to win PES League three times, winning this year too?

“Our career is very different. ETTORITO97 has been competing in PES for 10 years whereas I started in 2015. In just 3 years, I won 2 world titles before taking a two-year break an play another game. I’ve come back with a lot of motivation, I train a lot to be the best. I’m obviously aiming for a new world title!”

After winning PES League two straight times, you left the competitive PES scene for a while. What made you come back to the PES competitions?

“After my two World Champion titles, I needed a new challenge. The PES scene lacked competitions at that time. The arrival of eFootball.Pro and the interest of the football clubs in esports boosted my desire to return to Pro Evolution Soccer. When AS Monaco eSports and its esports coach came present their project to me, I didn’t hesitate a second. It's a dream to be able to represent such a prestigious club in my favorite game!”

What are your expectations for the season 2 of the eFootball.Pro League?

“I hope there will be more teams, because I’m very motivated to win this competition as many times as possible.”
